2: Seven Years in Tibet (1997)

Based on the life of Austrian Mountaineer Heinrich Harrer, Seven Years in Tibet is a story of Harrer’s life in the Himalayas during the second World War. The story follows the struggles of Harrer who is held captive by the Allied Forced for possession of a German Passport. After he manages to flee from the jail in Dehradun, Harrer escapes and finds himself in the uncharted territories of Greater Tibet and he enters Lhasa, the forbidden city, where foreigners weren’t allowed.What follows is an epic and life changing moment as Harrer meets the Dalai Lama and gets an outsider’s perspective on this remote nation and on leading a life in an unknown land.

A movie about a woman who runs away from her mundane life, her husband, house a successful career in search of inspiration and a change for self-fulfillment. The story follows the life of Elizabeth Gilbert, a modern day woman who takes a trip to 3 different countries to change her superficial life and travels all the way from US to the remote villages of India and Indonesia.While on this self-discovery, Elizabeth finds her passion to Eat in Italy, her Pray in India and Love in Indonesia.

4:Lost in Translation (2003)

A story about two unlikely souls crossing paths in Tokyo, one a faded movie star and the other a neglected young woman. After going through a personal tragedy, Cheryl Strayed played by Reese Witherspoon undertakes a solo journey of 1,100 hike  across the Pacific Crest Trail from the Mojave Desert through California and Oregon. Based on the best-selling book of the same name, Wild explores the journey of  a woman who hikes through the tough terrains of the Pacific Crest to find herself, get a grip on her life, overcome the loss of her mother and get a new perspective on life.

7: The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
In an attempt to reconnect and bond after the death of their father, three brothers travel across some of the most stunning and remote places in India. The story follows the lives of three wealthy, spoiled brothers who haven’t spoken to each other in a year. They take this overland trip in order to try and get together but what follows is a wacky trip across India as they bicker and pop painkillers to get rid of their of their depression.
But just when it seems nothing can go right, the brothers find clarity and perspective in their chaos and their experiences along the way finally bring them closer.
