The 5th Bangalore Literature Fest is almost here inviting and exciting you in the last month of December. For all the bibliophiles, it is a river of literary art flowing endlessly, complemented by musical magic and gastronomic delights. This amazing 2-day gala is being held at Hotel Royal Orchid on 17th and 18th December, where all you have to do is register for this free event.
It celebrates literature without considering the difference between the languages of English, Hindi and Kannada. It has an action-packed schedule where you and your kids will never feel bored. The reasons to attend this affair are never-ending but the main 3 highlights are:
This year’s guests include Shashi Tharoor, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Amish Tripathi, Sudha Murty, Ramachandra Guha, Shatrughan Sinha, Sanjeev Kapoor and many more famous personages.
Hearing them talk about varied topics ranging from anything to anything, including current affairs will be a treat for the ears. The section called the Red Couch features them all.
Getting the opportunity to witness the spell Piyush Mishra casts on you by reciting his poems is an enthralling one. The two days will be filled with such performances by different artists who would dance, sing, do stand-up comedy, put on a puppet show and surprise you with all sorts of spectacles.
Cultural food for the soul: something for everyone
The event has some unique elements called LitMart and C|L|F. LitMart is for aspiring writers where they get a chance to pitch their book idea to literary agents, commissioning editors and publishers. C|L|F is all about keeping the children engaged in a culturally rich environment by organising interesting and fun activities for them. Workshops, meals, performances, open mic, everything is in there.
